VAT Act 1984???

Hello

I have just unpacked my new Contour XT meter and was filling in the warranty when I noticed at the bottom it says, "I have diabetes and claim relief from VAT under Group 12 of Schedule 8 of the VAT Act 1984."

Does anyone know what this means?

Yes, you don't have to pay VAT on diabetic products if you are a registered diabetic. In some cases you have to pay the VAT and then claim it back, which I think is the purpose of the form you have found, and in some cases (Boots on line and some other online retailers) the VAT is deducted from the purchase price. There have to be some perks :wink:
