Anyone know if I have to pay the vat on my new specs ?

If something is classed as a medical supply necessary because of your condition then you can reclaim vat. I dont think glasses would count unless you have been Prescribed them them due to a diabetes relared complication rather than normal short / long sightedness / astigmatism etc
