vegans

I'm not sure that I understand the difference in what the two types would eat though?

Eating would be the same, but the motivation to eat that way for life would be very different. This is why I suggested they might have been dietary vegans. We all know it is easy to give up a diet, but giving up your belief system is very different because that is who you are how you live your life and not just what you eat

The Vegan Society in the UK recommends that everyone over 50 should take a B12 supplement regardless of their way of eating as our bodies become less efficient as we age, plus the soil the herbivores eat is not of great quality these days due to intensive farming. This is why animals are sometimes injected with B12 as mentioned in the video you posted. Fortunately, vegans are more "B12 aware" than the general population so deficiency is not such a problem.

"it is a known fact that vegans very often end up with vitamin B12 deficiency.. many do "sin" and eat some animal stuff on seldome occasions" - Come on Freema, this is just offensive!

It is wrong to call someone a part-time vegan because they don't eat animals before 6pm. It would be like calling the intermittent fasting breakfast dodgers on here "part-time breatharians."

I am a big fan of Veganuary though as it is a wonderful festival to make people think about food, where it comes from, other options. It has gathered pace a lot since your link from a few years ago. There is another festival in the news this week making some people discuss food choices here. People draw their line in different places.

well I agree with you that many and maybe even most animals are treated grusomely today in moderne farming if it is dog or pigs it is just as evil
