Not those who have become vegetarian since being diagnosed.
Do long time vegetarians get diabetes?

I did.

Veggies are just regular people with as much chance of getting D as the next guy.

I have been veggie for 25 years .. T2 Diabetic for 7 months !

my mother in law.

Indian, 5 ft, 15 stone, arrived in the UK to plentiful food high in fat and sugar, stuffed her face, result T2.

I came on here to get away from all the "T2s are fat greedy *******" **** in the media today

I am lifelong veggie and T2. Followed a so-called healthy diet, lots of fruit and low GI complex carbs and very low fat..........................

If you look at some parts of India a vegetarian diet is the norm and they have higher predisposition to diabetes

I think its challenging to be a vegie and follow Low carb but not impossible - though eating out is a bit of a nightmare

A T2 'stuffs his face' because he is starving. The bg isn't getting into the cells and the liver is laying it down as fat
It would be nice if the T1 here would learn a bit and not just repeat ar$eholes

Been Vegetarian since 1994 dianosed with D1 in 2003 became a strict vegetarian in 2010

My mom went vegetarian slowly in 2005 for health reasons (she's a controlled T2 a1c 4.5)
