I'm struggling with my blood sugar levels, well that is according to my meter! I started on Venlafaxin anti depressant several months ago to replace Citalopram. I had not been checking my BS regularly, but over Christmas I got sick with Covid and Pluerisy. Hospital noted my levels were high, averaging around 19-24 mmol. Once home I've been monitoring after meals, but I'm struggling with levels, and cannot seem to get them below 14, even overnight fasting and really making an effort with csrbs and cake in my diet etc.
My question is, does anyone else with T2 have similar experiences with Venlafaxin? And is it a false reading? And should I be worried?

I don't know anything about that particular medicine, but I do know that illness such as covid and pleurisy and the medications to treat them, and the accompanying stress and anxiety of being ill, can all cause bg to rise.
Are you on any other medication currently?

If not, you could try a couple of weeks of very very low carb, often called keto and see what that does to bg, but you might just want to be patient a while longer and let you get over illness first
