Hi,
Please can anyone help. I'm type 2 managed by diet alone. I've discovered a verruca on my foot after swimming today :( can anyone please advise if there are any over the counter treatments i can use, or what is the best cause of action.

Thanks

This is one that you must discuss with your doc, or if you are able to refer yourself to a podiatrist.
Verucca treatments destroy not only the verucca but damage the skin around and beneath it. Many people with diabetes have problems with the blood circulation to their feet and may not heal well. They may also have a loss of feeling to their feet and not realise the damage that is being done, This can very quickly lead to serious problems.

I has a small verucca when diagnosed, it had been there for ages but wasn't any problem. My doctor referred me to a podiatrist but I delayed it for a while, then one day I realised it was gone!

Sharon,

As Phoenix suggests I would let your gp take a look and prescribe/suggest a product to use, most pharmacy's will be reluctant to recommend a over-the-counter product when you say you have diabetes and will insist that you see your gp first.
