Totally agree. Following standard NHS dietary advice will lead to standard NHS outcomes (deterioration and complications) Following the advice of experienced diabetics on this forum (the ones who have good control through diet, lifestyle and meds) will lead to a far better quality of life. Personally, I sleep better, am fitter, less achy, less tired, have more energy, feel more positive, have lost some weight, and enjoy my food more now than before I had diabetes. And I'm confident that I have slowed, maybe even halted, that dreaded diabetes deterioration. I have also made some GREAT friends here. There are some astonishing success stories all over this forum. People losing huge amounts of weight. Lowering their blood glucose by massive amounts. Eliminating the symptoms of complications. Normalising their blood scores. 'Reversing' diabetes. Getting a diagnosis of Diabetes is a very useful thing. It tells us why we've been feeling so grotty, and it gives us a choice about how we want to feel in the future - a future we can influence and improve with the right choices.
