Would appreciate if someone could help me - my husband is under the care of an endocrinologist. He put him on Forxiga which is very new still in South Africa - it has been amazing we can see a change in his blood sugar levels and he has lost 5kg in 3 months. He has a family member that is also on it and when he told his Dr he is on 20mg a day (10 in the morning and 10 at night) his Dr was shocked - we are thing the Dr will change the dose when we see him again which is in 3 months time. Should we be worried or can he stay on this dose till we see the Dr again. Ps the Dr is great but very busy so I am asking here 1st to hear others opinion. Thanks - his Hba1c was 7.9 when the Dr prescirbed the Forxiga

In the interests of being fully informed, I'd suggest you read this thread about the dangerous side effects (there are several) that can occur as a result of taking this class of drugs. Better to know what to be on the lookout for than to be caught by surprise, IMO.
