Hello,
I'm new to this forum, in fact new to all forums. But I have finally reached a point in my diabetes treatment where I have no one to talk to and can't find much help on the web. I started with the Victoza injections 2 weeks ago. It took nearly 17 months to get them, after trying the usual prescription drugs (Metformin and others) some of which had pretty horrible side affects for me, some of which just didn't work but I was left with them nevertheless. Eventually I changed GP - as mine had literally given up on me and trying to lower my high blood sugars.
So, I'm pretty desperate for this Victoza to work but so far it's hardly lowered my readings at all. I have just moved up to a 1.2mg dose. I know I am probably impatient and expecting something to work quickly. But you get easily drawn in to reading posts on forums where people say they not only lost lots of weight as soon as they started Victoza but that it was 'revolutionary' in lowering blood sugar in days, too.
It all makes me feel this solution isn't going to work for me either - and that's the end of a long line of nothing working. So I'm hoping someone can throw a bit of sanity my way and perhaps even their experience of this drug kicking in?
Thanks.
