Hello

I'm hoping someone can help me with some advice.

I've been on Victoza for almost a fortnight at the acclimatising dose of 0.6. But although the side effects are a little better, I still feel nauseous most of the time. Can anyone advise whether I should move to 1.2 or wait until the side effects have cleared up before I increase the dose?

Thank you

What did your doctor/diabetes team tell you to do? I was told to take 0.6 mg for one week, then increase to the 1.2mg dose, which I dutifully did, even though I was still having a fair bit of nausea etc. This took several weeks to subside completely. Look on the positive side: the nausea helps you cut down on food, so you are more likely to hit your weight loss target and so be allowed to stay on Victoza!

The nurse said two weeks @0.6 then unless the side effects were bad. And I guess it's that subjectivity that concerns me - I still feel intermittently nauseous and with much reduced appetite (no complaints there!). The nurse had said I wouldn't have any effect until I was on 1.2 - except for possible side effects.
