After advice please. My figures have been going up for some time(high teens/low twenties). Started on Victoza yesterday at 1.2mg. My figures dropped within 6 hours to 6.9. This morning tested before I have injected and it reads 12. Want advice as to whether I should just proceed to inject 1.2mg again this morning or will my figures drop and give me a hypo ?

You need to exercise a little caution. As I understand it, it is not unusual to have a high reading in the morning as the body prepares you to wake up and face the day. They should drop naturally, subject to what your eating, and in this case you should help your body to adjust naturally by simply not eating in the morning. But from what you write your figures are increasing. You need to examine carefully why that is, clearly there is something wrong with the diet. You need to discuss this with your dietitian. If you do not have one your JP can send you to one at the local Diabetes Clinic. If you do not correct what ever is wrong, it will simply get worse. T2D is not inherited or genetic, it is a lifestyle choice we all made when we were given the wrong information about the food we eat.

You should contact your health care team to ask about dosages as we are not able to give this kind of advice...........going under 5 is regarded as getting close to a hypo though for some people not on meds its considered normal.

Less common side effects include loss of appetite, indigestion, acid-reflux and constipation. In liraglutide in combination with metformin, no episodes of major hypoglycaemia have been observed. Hypoglycaemia is more common when liraglutide is used in conjunction with a sulphonylurea. Source: Diabetes.co.uk
