Yes it helped at first to bring down my blood sugar, literally overnight. But then everything went pear shaped and had to go on to insulin but I am still on Victoza and it is helping to keep my weight down, as for side effects I had a problem with taking Victoza and metformin together as it really upset my stomach and that was down to metformin more than anything, Victoza is a good drug as I was able to come off gliclizide. BUT if they drive they have to inform DVLA and insurance company
