Vitamin D deficiency

After suffering with tiredness, depression and no stamina for 2 1/2 years and being labelled with chronic fatigue (the little box they put you in when they think they have tested everything), my GP sent me to an endo and I suggested to her in amongst the other tests that she was doing, could my Vitamin D levels be checked. Bingo - I was deficient, I was prescribed Calcichew D3 forte twice a day, this was just before Christmas. I feel so much better, not completely well but getting there. The endo said I could possibly have had an injection to 'tide me over the winter' but my GP wasn't keen.

The chewable tablets are better than ones that just go straight down into your stomach as some of the Vitamin D gets absorbed through your mouth. The well known HIgh Street vitamin shop sell a spray version of Vitamin D of 1000 international units.

I haven't been offered a follow up blood test, but I'm back to see the endo in two weeks, so will see what she says.
