Hi would taking a vitamin d supplement have an adverse affect on my diabetes medication. Thanks

Hi @Viv0147 - I would not have thought so? Otherwise my GP would not have put me on Vitamin D drops daily! (I take Insulin and Metformin daily) But, I will check on the internet and get back to you. :)

Hi again @Viv0147 - Just checked on Diabetes.co.uk site and it says: Vitamin D is supposed to help improve the body's sensitivity to Insulin. Some Scientists also believe this vitamin may help to regulate the production of Insulin in the Pancreas.
But, if in doubt about taking it? - always check with your GP. :)

I take Vitamin D from Sept-March every year due to the Northern latitude here and lack of sunlight this far North in Autumn/Winter. It's been in the news recently that all people should take Vit D. Vitamin D doesn't affect you being diabetic and is actually beneficial. :)

just remember to supplement with Vit K2 at the same time, otherwise you won't necessarily be able to make the best use of the Vit D (the two hormones work together to let you get the best out of both of them).
