Hi I was wondering if anyone takes Vitamins to help with your Diabetes T1 and what they are called and what they help x K

My type is T3c as a result of CFRD (cystic fibrosis related diabetes), so it has similar characteristics of T1 and T2.

Pancreas no longer doing it's job and blood glucose issues like with T2.

I do take the following, zinc, vitA, vitC, vitD3, Lutein zeanthan supplement, Astaxanthan, Alpha lipoic acid, CoQ10 (Prefer the Ubiquinol version) and a probiotic.

Some of these are because of CF, but also seem to work well for me with CFRD.

The VitA is recent due to deficiency and same with D3, but I have now reached a real good level with D3.

Zinc and alpha lipoic acid really do improve insulin sensitivity for me. Zinc is great for CF in general and having had some liver billiary obstruction issues in the past, I have found that ALA really has improved my liver enzyme levels. Both can lower blood glucose levels on their own very quickly.

The rest are basically antioxidants and have helped me get off all blood pressure medication and have other benefits.

Great thank you will try the vitamins x

I'm not saying you should copy what I do and a I forgot to mention I did get blood levels checked for deficiencies and I do get them checked during the year so I know where I'm at and make sure I'm not going way above what is needed. Not much point in taking some things if you are already getting enough in your diet.
