My Iron levels tend to go a little low occasionally and Metformin can make it worse in some people.

I take a normal multivitamin pill primarily for Iron, Vitamin D and sublingual (under the tongue) vitamin B complex liquid (it is loaded with B12 in particular). If I stop taking the vitamin B for any length of time, I become a bit anaemic.

I've been experimenting with Chromium supplement and Cinnamon - so far, I think there may be a modest fall in after-meal BG (around 0.3) but this is controversial, to say the least, and not well-supported by much in the way of scientifically rigorous studies.

The vitamins were on medical advice, Chromium and Cinnamon are a personal decision.

You can't really go wrong with a decent multivitamin, or multivitamin/mineral supplement as belt and braces alongside a decent diet.

Metformin tends to deplete B12 so this is one you might try adding, also B6, but I've read that an excess of some B vitamins may cause a deficiency in others. I'm about to trial some Benfotiamine (related to B1)

Vitamin D is something that seems to be especially deficient especially during winter, again I've read that the best form to supplement with is D3 (cholecalciferol) and in gelcaps rather than dry tabs.

It's a complicated field though as some synthetic vitamins (some forms of vit E) may actually block the absorption of better natural forms. High protein diets seem to need fewer vitamins, and diets high in coloured veggies and fruits (see the Eat The Rainbow thread) contain bioflavinoids that serve to recycle vitamin C among others.

At worst if you are getting too many you will end up with highly expensive **** as most of them come straight out again if unused.

well my cousin eats some vitamins , so this tells me its OK to eat vitamins . also vitamins is a good thing to eat so ur body could be stronger .
