You may want to ask your GP to check your thyroid if the fatigue continues. Any tight feeling at your neck? Hair-loss? difficult to get going? Joint pain? If so, do check your thyroid.
Have you been tested for a sleep disorder? I was diagnosed with Sleep Aponea some 5 years ago and my world is very similar to yours. When my BGs are high for susatined periods, i.e 15+ I become even more spaced out than usual. A usual day is about 2-4 hours asleep, and when awake I'm grumpy, irritable, can't concentrate, short-tempered, impatient and then I go back to bed at night.
Apart from that I am a really nice bloke.
Other causes of fatigue are
Try and get tested for numbers 2 - 4. Docs aren't that keen on testing for Vitamin D deficiency, but it can make you feel terrible (took me over 2 years to get diagnosed with it).
- High blood sugar levels
- Anaemia
- Vitamin D deficiency
- Vitamin B12 deficiency
