Watering Eyes

Hi all. I did a search for this subject on the website and forum but couldn't find anything that explains or helps. I was recently diagnosed T2 and have been watching carbs, lost weight etc. Nearly every time I eat something, within 10 minutes my eyes start to water. After about about an hour the watering reduces but my eyes are sore. It has been like this for weeks / months. Sometimes my eyes water a tiny bit and sometimes they water a lot. I don't think I have an infection, I've never had an allergic reaction or hay fever. I just tested my bloods (after chicken breast, cauli rice, sweet corn and yoghurt and almonds to follow) and they were 5.8 after 1hr and 5.6 after 2 hrs - they don't appear too high do they?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I am not on any meds at all. Also, I had my eye screening done last month and they said my eyes appeared normal.

Had a similar problem, though I didn't make a connection with eating. Don't know what caused it but I have since been diagnosed with glaucoma. Don't know if it's in anyway related, as I'm still waiting to see the specialist, but would it be worth speaking to your optician?

You could be suffering from dry eyes and most optician's don't look for it but a simple check with a yellow dye will tell them if you have it or not but my eyes do that now and again but it is with the medication I'm on but just ask them to check it out for you
