Hi.

Have been to see my doc today regarding my blood glucose levels ( very high ) He now thinks it time to start using injections to control my bloods and is sending me to the specialist team to sort it out. Is there anybody on here who is on the weekly injection and can give me any info. Thanks.

I am a T1 using insulin, if you're a T2 as your avatar suggests then ( I am obviously guessing a bit here ) your doc is suggesting Bydureon (Exenatide).

What kind of information are you after ?

Hi, I was recently put on weekly, (bydureon) injections, instead of Linagliptin, still taking metformin.
I inject on Saturday mornings, in my stomach area. The only side effect is small lumps under the skin, (which is quite common).
So far my BS has come down a little, compared to with linagliptin, which worked at first, but symptoms came back.
The biggest thing I have notice is that is has decimated my, once, healthy appetite. I am by no means overweight, but now find I can go all day after breakfast, (grilled full english), without eating.

Thanks for your replies. I'm not sure what the injection will be as I'm waiting for the referral. I was on linagliptin for a time but like you it became ineffective and they put me on gliklazide. What are your bloods now compared to to pre injection ?

Dookie, prior to going onto bydureon, my bloods were typically around 8-11, whereas now I'm around 6.
