Well, it's been over amonth sinc ei was told that I was Type 2.

I've drastically lowered my consumptionof alcohol. Began biking at least three times a week. walk more than I used to. Now have regualr breakfast of porridge. I've always tried to eat healthly - feell haveing three meals a day is a bit mouch for me.

In the meantime I've gained 4 kilos - how normal is this?

Al least amonth before I get ot eat a dietician. Thing that really irritates me if I don't feel unhealthy.

That's really hard, to try to do all the right things and look like you've failed. But it isn't failure because this is still very early days and you're just trying to find the right balance of type of food, medication (your profile says oral so it can be adjusted presumably) and exercise. So don't lose heart. You could discuss this with your GP if you're worried, or you could try a few different things until you get to see the dietician. But also, someone will be along soon who knows more than me and maybe can point to something you can change now. Just don't give up. I've been at it a year and managed to normalise things to a great extent, though diabetes never goes away. You'll get there!

Akabob, if you don't want to eat him/her, leave him/her at the side of the plate, I'm sure someone on the forums can suggest a tasty alternative (although all of mine seem to be of the "low fat" variety :D ) incidentally how many carbs is a dietician?
