im really worried about gaining weight its taken me a while to slim down so far and i want to keep the weight loss going. But worried that as my levels become harder to control and more insulin i give myself that the weight is going to pile back on me and i will once again feel down about my weight. Anyone have any ideas on how to continue losing weight even if my insulin levels increase

Hia Natalie, my weight did creep back on after starting insulin. I went from 8 1/2 stone to 12 1/2 stone over a period of about 4 years and stayed there for another 10 years. It was only a major diabetes set-back and, after that, the realisation that things had to change that I started to try and lose weight. That was through eating a lot less, going on to a pump so not having to snack to much but the biggest thing was cutting back drastically on carbs (and as a result the insulin I had to take). Looking back I must have been eating over 300g carbs per day easily. I now restrict that to 120g max. I have also cut out alcohol on a regular basis and only have a few glasses of fizz if I'm out in a party or something. Have been 9 1/2 stone for the past 2 and a half years so it's definitely sustainable and works for me. All the best.
