weight gain?

Hi there,
I have had really good blood results since being low carb - under 40g per day for over a week now. Although I am thrilled with my results my clothes feel a bit tighter! Can you put on weight with this regime or am i doing something wrong? My insulin requirements ave halved so I thought in turn I may lose a bit?

The only thing I can think of is, if your bg's before were quite high you might have been dehydrated, so you will have put on weight but only water. You should lose weight if you stick with it.
 
Hi Julia,

Persevere. Your body will take a week or two to figure out where all the glucose diappeared to all of a sudden. It will adjust and then the weight will start to shift.
I gained a pound in my first week, but 12 months later I was 4 stones better off.

Hi there,
that's good news as I am really enjoying it a the moment. I have tried and failed a few times but I am determined to stick with it this time. What do you use if you go low? is lucozade still appropriate or is there a better alternative?
