Haha. You have no idea how proud of you I am!!! Where there are a will there’s a way. You might like it with some red pepper flakes if you like a little spicy!
You go girl!

Aww thank you. I promised I would keep trying. Actually, red pepper flakes would be nice in the omelet with avocado. Next I will make a dip with herbs and spices and some garlic. I will let you know how I go : )

Don’t forget the basil! Basil is awesome in avocado. Little garlic, sea salt and pepper of your choice. Even a slight squeeze of lemon, just don’t over do it or it gets too tart.
Today for lunch is turkey salad with mayo, chopped celery, green onion and AVOCADO. Can’t wait to eat it.

It s delish mashed on Fish too. Add a little pico de Gallo on top. All sorts of ways

<snip> I don't eat sausages either other than 100% grass fed hot dogs on occasion.<snip>

Just caught my eye.

In the UK we don't usually make a big thing about grass fed beef, lamb etc. because nearly all our animals are raised outside in low intensity farming. Out to pasture during spring/summer/autumn and often back under cover for most of the winter eating silage (fermented grass).

I suspect that anywhere that makes a big thing of "grass fed" is like parts of the USA and Argentina where cattle are raised in stockyards and fed on grains and never see a blade of grass.

This is one reason why our smaller farmers rely on subsidies because they are very low intensity, needing a lot of land to support each animal.

The main give away is eggs. Free range means that they are outside eating real food, not in a factory where they are crammed together and fed on concentrates. Often with their beaks cropped to stop them pecking themselves and others.

And....breathe.

Although I have been berated for writing it a little while ago - I would urge that rather than pasta in particular, you eat things which have a bit more nutrition than flour, things with vitamins and minerals - and flavour too. I am NOT saying eat low carb, but get the carbs along with things that can keep you alive and healthy.
I am sure that the way I react to carbs from grains by going higher than the same amount of carbs from vegetables is an indication that not all carbs work in the same way, and personally I would rather have a tasty multicolour stir fry any time than pasta or rice

Hi LittleGrey Cat, I eat lean meat because It is healthier and I prefer lean to fat. I know carbs are no good for us diabetics, but at the moment I have little to none so I think to gain weight, I might allow myself a bit more. Say a slice of bread for lunch and a small potato for dinner, not too bad or is it? As I believe I need to gain some weight to prepare myself for an operation I might have to have, and I feel weaker to lose weight too much too soon.
For most the first month ( last month) of being diagnosed, and part of this month, I had egg and egg and egg for breakfast and now I swap to oat bran. I will come back to eggs eventually as oat bran is sooo boring and tasteless( . I do put cheese in my omelet, and top my baked aubergine or zucchini with cheese. I used to love baked Camembert and hot baguette but now baguette is out, so is Camembert... I will try double cream with fresh berries like you suggested it sounds delicious! I sometimes have berries or other fruits with yogurt. And yeah, I will have more cheese as it is Christmas.. I will try to eat more meat and fish to get more protein too. Not gonna be easy as I always cook from scratch, and cook the food I would like to eat... Saying so, I am gonna get some olives in to munch on while watching TV. Whole family had bubble and Squeak with cold turkey for dinner, I cooked myself a pot of vegetable soup: a carrot, few cabbage leaves, half an onion, few slices of turkey and two table spoons of black beans. Merry Christmas!

Like you I prefer plant fats to other fats. Give me avocado any time any day !! I can eat a whole avocado just like an apple! The annoying thing is they often take days to get ripen if not even a week. Thanks for warning me about selenium in Brasilia nuts. I never knew or thought that. I have them because they are best for diabetes! Will make sure I won't have too many...

I may have missed something, but why is Camembert of, just because baguette is? You could bake the cheese, then scoop it up with celery or such likes.

I make chorizo crisps which I can shape like Pringles. Oh boy. They're delicious

Hi Ickihun, I am born to be thin type of person. I have always been on slightly underweight side. Last few years I some how managed to put on a few kilos and I never looked so good. Earlier last month I was diagnosed with diabetes so I went straight on very low carbs diet ( from a high carbs diet) and after a month and a half, I have lost 5 kg! ( 1 kg = 2 pounds a week average). I don't smoke or have an illness, past few months I was anemic but took iron tablets so should be ok now. I now will watch my weight so that it won't come down any further, play around with food ideas and see about the results in blood test in 2 week time. I am ever so careful about what I eat now I haven't touch any cake, or a sweet treat, or anything bready at all.. As you say, I probably will allow myself a slice of bread each day ( brown of course) to gain back bit of the weight I lost... as I don't fancy meat too much..

ExactLy. That’s why I make a big deal of it. Junk fed beef. I do however get the most outstanding Australian lamb chops at our Costco. Ashamed to say I’d never buy US lamb.
My eggs are always organic free range. Poultry always organic so at least better. No gmo or antibiotics.
My b
i eat an avocado a day everyday. A big wedge with each meal. I don’t eat loads of protein either but I do eat some with each meal. About two ounces, less at bf. Protein makes me gain but that’s not why I don’t eat a lot. I have kidney stones and it raises my bg. Maybe you should try a bit more protein? And of course healthy fats.
As for Camembert, I LOVE some melted Brie with crumbled butter roasted pecans and green onions. I melt it in a bowl and eat it with a spoon. No need for bread type stuff. More flavor on a spoon! Just like avo. I don’t get fancy. Scoop and eat. Sea salt usually but getting over that.

No more than 2-3 Brazil a day. Pecans and Macs are good for diabetics too. Low carb and higher fat.

Thanks for your most sensible and helpful advice Resurgam I know it will do me a world of good ... I knew that all along but somehow not managed to follow it as I do love all things made of flour and relied on it to fill me up. Now the flour is not an option anymore, and with sudden weight loss, I will have to go for things with more nutritions than just vegetables to stay healthy I will I will I will...

Hi all, I was shocked seeing myself in a mirror when getting up this morning, got on the scale, and my weight has gone down further. So far from 1st November till now I have lost 18 pounds ( 9 kilos) from my original 8.7 stone (54kg). I am totally devastated!! Shall I wait to see the nurse in 2 weeks or shall I ask to see a GP? I am wasting away...!!!
How could I have lost so much weigh so soon just by dieting? What else could contribute to this?? How do I stop loosing weigh??? Please help me!!
