Really struggling to shift some weight and been told it's cos am on lantus. If a change to nonomix wud this help

There's plenty people on lantus who don't struggle with their weight, what steps have you taken to try and reduce your weight? Some more information would be helpful so members can advise further.

Hi. Lantus (or Levemir) by itself doesn't cause weight gain but as it causes the body to have adequate insulin and hence able to convert carbs to energy you have to control the amount of carbs. Adding a fast-acting insulin or changing to a mix might help keep blood sugar down but it won't help with weight. I'm afraid keeping the carbs right down should help. Many of us set a limit of, perhaps, 150gm/day and some have a much lower limit. Set yourself a target limit and see how you go.

Yea ave been doin a low carb diet for over a month. Had 1 or 2 cheat days. But been good. A wud say bout 150g of carbs a day. Am on novo rapid and lantus.
