Hi everyone, 28/m/bmi 34% and i measured my blood sugar 10 hours after fasting at 12 pm right away when i woke up, the result was 112mg/dl, then i tested again after 15 minutes and urinating and it was 80 mg/dl so i was confused and redid the test and came back 82mg/dl, am i prediabetic and that the blood glucose dropped just because i urinated? thanks :(
(also i ate fast food, fried chicken, fries and large soda at night before sleeping, not gonna do that again :( )

Thanks! I have an appointment next week with my endicrinologist but in case like this, which number should i rely on? i just tested again 2 hours after eating strawberry yogurt and it was 80 mg/dl

Thanks! but i tested it when i woke up at 12 pm, i heard that dawn phenomenom only happens between 2 am and 6 am. so it must be something different other than that?
I've always thought it is a ridiculous name for a completely natural process that can, and will happen at any time of the day.
When certain hormones are released our liver will respond by giving us a shot of stored glucose. It can happen when we are waking to help us start the day, it can also happen when we exercise, if we are too hot/cold, angry, tired. Any physical or emotional stress can cause a release of glucose triggered by our hormones
So a natural bodily function, not a phenomenon, that can occur at any time, not just dawn.

I had a spell some years back when I was ill and sleeping much of the day, and I tended to wake up early evening and so ate my breakfast at dinner time. My "dawn phenomenon " followed me round timewise and my liver dumped its breakfast offerings at around 5pm.

As an ex-shift worker, I think for diabetic glucose control purposes, "dawn" is when we wake up to start our "day" regardless of the time on the clock. It'll be dawn somewhere in the world, after all.
