Well it's working

Been on a low carb diet for about 2 weeks now. Have cut out bread, potatoes, pasta, rice and pastry. Bg levels have dropped dramatically and I have enjoyed a modest weight loss of about 4 lbs without being hungry. I cannot say that I don't miss potatoes and pasta because I do but I'm really hoping that the weight loss continues as well as the benefits of low bg readings (only get up in the night once now!). If it does it will all be worth the sacrifice.

I only hope that the dreams of roast potatoes cooked in beef dripping and pasta bakes with lashings of cheese go away!!!!

Brilliant isn`t it!

Roast spuds are the best way to eat them Foxy. I may dare a couple next time we have a proper roast. You can eat loads of cheese it is low or no carb usually, just check first.

Look at me giving advice :P

Well done Ray! If you're going to have old potatos, roast is about the best. The fat slows the absorption into the system and thus the conversion to glucose. Better though is a few boiled new potatos. I have just a couple with no affect hardly on BG.

Keep it up bud and you will loose loads more weight. I miss the crisps terribly but so far have stayed off them.

Well done.

Me too. Crisps and crumpets are my two big misses, but fear of complications keeps me away from them. Hard though isn't it, when you just really fancy a packet, and can't
