So I’ve had lots of things to think about recently and decided to that maybe I wasn’t diabetic and didn’t need to take my insulin or be on a diet, so I stopped taking the insulin and ate what I wanted.
Not a good experiment, the stopping of insulin lasted about 24 hrs before I stupidly came back to my senses and saw that meter readings of hi were not actually saying hello! I also didn’t feel well either and know I only had myself to blame.
I’m taking my insulin now and am trying to get back on my diet track but I’m finding it so hard as it seems that the insulin I once injected, doesn’t seem to be working well, so I am now frequently waking up with readings of 14, and I can’t seem to get it below 10 all day.
Would you just keep increasing the Novorapid until it finally starts coming down?
I’m not eating any breakfast, lunch has been cold meats and a few cherry tomatoes, I’ve smacked on some nuts and dinner has been either a burger & salad or chicken salad.
I’m also going out for a walk each day for around an hour, is there anything else that might help get it back on track?
I do have an appt with the diabetic dietitian on the 22/11 to help me carb count so I guess I can ask them as well how to bring it back down.
Thanks
