Interested to hear of the recent studies suggesting that the incidence of T1D is higher amongst those born by C-section. Thought I'd start a quick poll to see if that rings true on the forum - were you born by C-section?

No I wasn't, but my teen was, so I still worry a little about Type 1 and her health at times.

My mum has 4 children, not 1 of us by c section. 3 of us are diabetic.

Due to complications with my diabetes when I was pregnant, my daughter was born by c section and she is also t1.

It runs in our family though.

Normal delivery, I'm the only type 1 in my family.

Experimentally, they are swabbing babies born by C section using vaginal swabs in order to 'seed' their biome.

I don't expect that my biome at birth had much effect as a very late onset T1. (I wasn't a C section and was breastfed). I am interested in the possible effect of gut microbes on health though and recently found I have a different reason for a possible less than optimal gut biome but I still suspect it's just one factor.

Normal birth,I have gone three generations of both of parents and I am the only Type 1.
