Hi, I'm type 2, at the top of my pill medication, now using slow insulin, I just like to share my results and ask why? I had just come to the end of a anti biotics course. Blood sugar readings with no symptoms of a Hypo, I normally get symptoms around 4. 13th July 6am 4.3 Lunch 18.9 2pm 3.6 2.30pm 1.8 Taken 6 glucose tablets reading 4.4 to do the school run, I'd run out of glucose tablets after that. 7pm after dinner 9.2 I have had morning and evening tablet medication but not insulin as my readings were on the low side. 14th July 3am woke to use the toilet, thought I'd check my bloods as they struggled to get to 5, I got 1.5 I did not sleep after that reading fearing I would not wake up. 4am 2.4 4.30 2.1 5.30 4.66 From 3am onwards I eat one orange, one apple, 15 to 20 grapes plus at least 5 or 6 digestives. 7.30am 2.2 after Breakfast cereal 8.45am 2.6 9.30am 4.3 10.30am 2.5 Eat loads of sweets to walk to the doctors for 10.50am There it was 7.2 12.05pm 3.6 1pm after ham sandwich 17.2 1.30pm 4.3 2.30pm 3.30 3.30pm after grapes 4.30 4.pm 15.7 after peanuts ! I have not had any diabetic medicine all day on the 14th It managed to right it’s self after the peanuts, the battle started again to reduce the sugar levels. I can only surmise it was the antibiotics course I had just finished that had upset my stomach. Am I correct in my asumption? My doctor was stumped, he was going to tell me off for my high 7.4 three months test.
