That's a bit odd. :? If a doctor has noted that you have B12 deficiency then I too would have thought you would have been started on treatment?
I have pernicious anaemia, B12 deficiency which means no matter what i eat, my body cannot absorb the nutrients I need from my diet alone. Or that is what I was told when I was diagnosed wiith it one year ago at the age of 47.
I had been diagnosed with diabetes a few months previously and was NOT taking Metformin, as I have other health probs blood tests are carried out at least annually so I still can't figure out why it suddenly appeared.
The sensible thing to do is to go back and discuss this with your GP I would have thought. I'm afraid I am not a shining example to follow as after the first 2 B12 injections, I didn't go back for any more. They made me feel ill.
