what do class as

You mean personal goal/range? Or actual score?
i am usually 5.1 in the morning.

Postprandial is usually back to baseline at two hours, often already at one h. So my readings vary between 4.2 and 7.

I low carb and rarely go above 5.0 mmol.
My fasting BSLs is always between 4.2 & 4.5.

I ment the range that is globe for normal, from the lowest reading to the highest before you are out of the normal range. Sry didn't make it very clear. Just interested to see if we all use the same or change them to suit your self.

My DSN said she wanted me below 10 at two hours. I don't let myself go that high, except on very few special occasions or twice since diagnosis in Feb.

But then she worries my control is too good and seems to think a HbA1c of 35 is too low and thus a bad thing. Strange woman, she should be leaping with joy.

Surely she should be wanting you to only be 2 or below on the 2hr reading of the pre reading, that's what i understand to be good readings as it shows the body has distributed the glucose as it should.

NICE recommended target blood glucose level ranges by Type:

Non-diabetic 4.0 to 5.9 mmol/L before meals (pre prandial) under 7.8 mmol/L 2 hours after meals (post prandial)

Type 2 diabetes 4 to 7 mmol/L before meals (pre prandial) under 8.5 mmol/L 2 hours after meals (post prandial)

Type 1 diabetes: 4 to 7 mmol/L before meals (pre prandial) under 9 mmol/L 2 hours after meals (post prandial)

Children w/ type 1 diabetes 4 to 8 mmol/L before meals (pre prandial) under 10 mmol/L 2 hours after meals (post prandial)

As you have seen from earlier posts on this thread, some people prefer and are able to keep their levels within a much tighter range than the above recommendations.

That's great just what I needed. Thanks.

Paul this 2 mmol limit is a good rule of thumb to follow especially while working your way down from higher levels towards achieving the NICE recommended levels shown in my earlier post.

Again some people prefer and are able to keep tighter control of their levels although whether there is any health benefit in doing so is open to question.
