What do you do with flax seed

I got a free sample of ground flaxseed but don't know what to do with it. Can I eat it for breakfast like porridge? If so how do I make it. It has no cooking instructions on the packet. Got it with my gluten free porridge.

I buy it regularly & add it to by oat-free porridge - made also with ground almonds & coconut flour.

I also add to the mix for my low carb unsweetened cake.

Flaxseeds are more commonly known as linseed's, I use golden linseed's in my morning porridge together with pumpkin seeds, flaxseeds (or linseed's  ) are supposedly good for lowering cholesterol

So I make my porridge and mix the FS in, should I use half and half?

Try 2/1 mixed before you cook it.
Ratio doesn't matter

I wouldn't be doing that, flaxseeds can make you have loose bowels so I would start off slowly and gradually increase, I just add a heaped tablespoon in with the oats whilst they simmer away.

Thanks for the info, am gong to try it for breakfast tomorrow, bit worried about the loose bowel I have that anyway.

As long as flax / linseed, is grounded it is fine to add to anything.
Don't worry to much about loose bowels, as long as you do not go ott (tablespoon is fine).
