What do you eat at Nando's?

OK, so I do like eating out... so, my new question is what do you eat at Nando's?

I find it quite good for my BS as I can order chicken... and well, more chicken. Usually go for a half chicken and perhaps a garlic bread side or coleslaw side if I'm particularly adventurous. The chicken bodes well for me and my BS so I quite enjoy the monotony of it all
 
My nearest Nandos is 70 miles away - shuch a shame it's so far away as I only tried it about a month ago and loved it. Low carb as I ad half a chicken, salad and had half of the garlic bread. Very yummy. Want to go back there now!!
 
Chicken!! Yup I love a nandos because the chicken is just about carb free. I also love the fact they publish the nutrition statistics so you can see the carb content of the sides. I treat myself to half a mashed potato sometimes (26g of carbs per full portion) !
 
I went last night! Go there about once per month for lunch with work people. I always have half a chicken with side salad and coleslaw. Next to no carbs.
 
Fantastic! I have the butterflied chicken breast,lemon and herb, with a side portion of olives. Nando's is absolutely the best restaurant going for diabetics (and, bless them, a full online menu with all the nutritional info). There isn't one in my town, unfortunately

Mmmm Halloumi - havent had that there.............yet! Wrote to them last night asking if they've considered opening one in our town - if you dont ask you dont get!!

I can't get away with Halloumi cheese although my youngest absolutely loves it, it's the squeaky noise it makes when your chewing it that I hate

Is Nandos food all hot and spicy, I've not fancied eating there for that reason.
 

I'm not a fan of spice either! You can have your chicken plain. Or there's also lemon & herb or mango and lime, which isn't spicy at all.
My personal favourite is the peri tamer, which is a lovely BBQ sauce.

No, not necessarily spicy, just avoid having it peri peri. They have two non spicy marinades - lemon and herb, and mango and lime. Both are lovely. I avoid the mango and lime generally just in case it has sugar in it (I'm not sure, but it does have a slightly sweet taste). I can't tolerate spicy food at all. But Nando's is just brilliant for diabetics.

My technique for eating out, is to know where carbs hide and avoid those meals. Thus, no pasta, pastry, potato or sugar. I like Bill's. They have a naked burger with no bun and you can swap the chips for a portion of salad. Their burgers are delicious! I have enjoyed chicken at Nando's too.
How about checking out the menus on-line before you go out? Most chains have a website with info.
