Hi everyone else, I am a T1 having had it quite simply and easily for 62 years now, I have to use Bovine insulin as Human insulin and I do not get on at all well, I have 2 long-acting Isophane doses morning and evening and 4 short term before I eat doses of neutral insulin, is all fine, but in the last 18 months, as in 14.07.11 I was diagnosed as having Coeliac disease. Oh boy did that mess up my routines and rhythms!! I felt like hell on earth, bs were either 2.3 or 29.5 with very little inbetween and so I had to make a choice. I have taken the decision this past week to use a small amount of Carbs each day just to give me some normality again as the gf food is grotesquely high in sugar, fat and salt to make it edible, I put on weight and now hate the way I look. The amazing thing is that the minute I ate a small amount of carbohydrate, normal bread, a small unsweetened biscuit my bs's came back to normal as if I had pushed a switch. Astounding and life now feels good again. So the reasons I have for least liking diabetes is the tendency for it to develop into other autoimmune diseases out of nowhere.
