I agree with length of time diagnosed possibly affecting judgement of what we dislike about D. I remember my dad 25+ years ago when I was dxd telling me there would be a cure, and in those days he would cut out every article he coukd find in newspapers to tell me of the improvements being made... I dint see much of it.... There is no cure... I still get hypos.. I still inject.. I still have to reapply for my licence every 3 years ... And this last aspect is so much mire stricter...... I still finger test.. Although my blood test machine my dad first bought for me was over £100 and fitted in a shoe box... I mainly wish that somebody somewhere could help the children to cope because it was **** tough for me and I was early 20's!!! I just mainly wish though that I could meet a fellow diabetic on a pump and cgm who is a consultant who as well as sitting in an office all day also did 6-8 hours physical work each day and learn from somebody in HCP environment who has real life experience of working physically, driving at least 4 trips each day, and also living.... Someone that truly understands like fellow members on this forum the ups and downs of life and coping...
