What does the forum app/website symbol mean?

Does anybody know what the symbol means with the circles inside?
Haemoglobin particle?
Something from Prometheus?
Crop circles?
I'm foxed by it and would like a tatt like that.
But of course, depends entirely on the meaning .

Hey! I've just double checked with the head honchos and confirmed that our logo represents a blood cell.

LOL. There is already enough paranoia and suspicion about people without diabetes without getting them to think we are some sort of secret society with symbols and strange practices. Still, it could be fun.
