Hello
I need advice again.
After a few weeks of encouraging fasting reads (5.6) I have now seen, yesterday and today 6.00 and 6.2. No change in diet so what can effect BS other than carbs.
Does anyone else experience this?
Thank you in advance.

All the above plus meter inaccuracy, time of the month ? So many variables that a small increase like that isn't worth worrying about. The trend is good. Well done.

i have found my BS can change as much as 3 by testing on two different fingers

A couple of months ago, after fasting, my doctor checked my blood on a meter. It was 6.

Blood was drawn shortly after and results came back as 5.

I would imagine the second result, which went to a lab, would be closer than the meter reading.

Thank you all for your replies.
You all know well the denials and self control required in our diet and the low meter figures are the reward.
I think I was just looking for something to panic about. Thought I could control it all.
What is a liver dump?

If you have not eaten for a long time (5 to 6 hours) your own body provides glucose from the liver. It is often called the dawn phenomenon because it most often happens in the morning after a night of not eating. This often confuses diabetics causing them wonder where the sugar is coming from.
