I have an appointment at the local hospitals Endocrinology department on Friday. Not really sure what to expect, I thought I was seeing a diet specialist? Never seen anyone other than the nurse for my diabetes.

An endocrinologist specialises in the endocrine system - so your hormones basically and how they are functioning - they treat everything from diabetes to fertility issues ( and my mate who is transitioning from a man to a lady sees them for her hormone medication)

Endocrine hormones and body metabolism
I saw mine years ago - straight after my only pregnancy .

He ordered blood tests - diagnosed Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid)
Mine had switched off after the pregnancy he explained .
Needing thyroxine replacement therapy for the rest of my life .
