What foods do u miss

Pasta, Bread, jelly sweets, Fruit Cake, Mince Pies, Malteasers, Bachelors Savoury Rice
 
Mashed spuds.
 
Mashed spuds? Have u tried cauliflower mash? It's same if not better I'll get u the recipe I will not be disappointed
 
Soft drinks, I don't like artificial sweeteners.
 
Croissants, jacket potatoes with baked beans, toast with baked beans, baked beans with baked beans, Oh how did you guess baked beans.
 
Can't you have baked beans reduced sugar on whole meal toast to slow down the absorbsion of carbs/sugar?
 
Nope, and yuk to those beans, give me the real beans or nothing at all.
 
Thick sliced toast, lots of it, with butter, lots of it, and lime marmalade, yup, that's right, lots of it.

I haven't changed my diet very much at all.

I don't really like spuds and I was going low-moderate carb in any case before diagnosis. I think the only thing I've cut back on is the dried fruit which I used to eat with gay abandon, these days I tend to be snaffling nuts by the handful.

My dear departed ma, used to tell me how, as a child during wartime rationing, she was taught to make chocolate spread with mashed potato and cocoa powder. Apparently the kids thought it was delicious. Sounds gross to me.
