Hey all

spent a couple of hours waiting on advice from our local team after we accidentally stuck our son with his levemir into the same leg as his novarapid.

Can anyone shed light on the short-term (next 24 hrs) and if there might be any adverse affects?

Thanks muchly

Do you mean you injected bolus into the leg and then, at the same time, injected basal in the same place the only resul will be the basal will slow down the acting time of the bolus, so you'll likely get a pretty steep post prandial rise.

If you'd done bolus into the leg pre dinner and basal into the leg a few hours later, pre bed, then there won't be any result. That's fine, although site rotation is a good idea.

Hi @BarneyCraggs
if the 2 injections were spaced apart in the same leg there should be no problems -- if they were immediately adjacent then the advice above will be the likely result

Unfortunately my son is a good 6 hours away from home so I don't know exactly the timing but presuming the normal routine the basal dose will have been a good couple of hours after bolus. So thanks Catapillar and Himtoo - your advice pretty well was in line with my guestimate
