Happy New Year everyone, wishing you all health and happiness!Have a great year in 2026 everyone
I'm feeling much better, it didn't really amount to more than a couple of days thankfully!Hoping you are feeling better this New Years Eve and that 2026 is a good year for you.
There seems to be so many bugs around - I hope yours is retreating into the rear mirror!
All the best for a peaceful, healthy and content 2026.
Sorry about the rules breach, I didn't realise I couldn't post a quote from Google!BG has been all over the place this morning - started off at 15.9 - Insulin to correct that, but it then dropped to 3.6. Had a cup of hot chocolate and Libre has just warned me that it is going high again.
Thin cut cold beef for breakfast soon.
Something with reheated beef and butternut squash for 2nd meal - I have to get Neil to cut the squash into chunks for me though - my hands won't do it.
Edited by mods to remove a quoted post which breached forum rules.
Ah. That was it. I didn't think about that either.Sorry about the rules breach, I didn't realise I couldn't post a quote from Google!
Ah thanks for that clarification - I was just being lazy and took AI at its word, since it's just about a condiment/spice. I agree it makes sense not to post AI generated "information" about diabetes or nutrition and I can understand why a blanket ban is necessary.Mods just want to clarify that it’s fine to post reputable links from a google search, in fact we welcome it. What isn’t permitted is AI generated text from google that appears at the top of a search page. This AI generated information isn’t a reputable source of information, and can lead to inaccurate information being posted.
This is from the relevant forum rule, which is there to protect the forum users from mis-information.

Recently diabetes-related material generated by "chatbots" has appeared on the internet. This is a machine-created synthesis and is therefore neither personal experience nor is it a recognised and valid source as required by forum rules.

I did find the same info you did, @jpscloud . Unfortunately the only ‘reputable links’ seemed to be sites for sales. Even Britannica website had AI info, but did justify by saying it may not be accurate.
What I did learn is that I would like @Annb to share the spice. Would go well in a chia pudding.
With your recent pain, it could just be that you have something brewing messing up your BG.BG still all over the place - ranging between 3.6 and 16.0 and I've only had that cold beef, a drinking chocolate and tea all day. I've baked off some of the butternut squash in some olive oil, chicken "powder" and curry powder and just added chunks of beef, some crisp fried onion and double cream and put it all back in the oven to reheat. It will be ready soon.
Thank you for being so understanding of our reasons for a blanket ban on AI, you hit the nail right on the head!Ah thanks for that clarification - I was just being lazy and took AI at its word, since it's just about a condiment/spice. I found some recipe sites including mahlab (and they made me want to give it a try) and not selling anything: https://thearmeniankitchen.com/a-lesson-in-mahlab-mahleb/Unfortunately the only ‘reputable links’ seemed to be sites for sales.
Just need to get these hands working again and I have a recipe I'd like to try - ma'amoul. It looks like a very sweet biscuit filled with dates and nuts. Not that I could eat them, of course, but I could make them for visitors. With your recent pain, it could just be that you have something brewing messing up your BG.
You have gotten very good at spotting patterns in your numbers and adjusting insulin and food accordingly, despite completely unhelpful advice from various HCPs over the years.
So I would expect this is something outside your doing, hopefully it'll settle soon!
