Well, what a to-do! Car didn't start again, but the spare battery was employed and it did, so no delay getting to the dentist. Once there, a different dentist saw me but there seem to have been some crossed wires because her plan was to take impressions for dental plates and have them ready for the afternoon, when she would take my teeth out. She was very puzzled when I told her that the impressions were taken at my last visit and a hunt ensued for the record of what was done. End result - they found the plate they had had made for the bottom jaw, but not for the top jaw and that meant she went ahead and removed the wonky tooth on the bottom and fixed a fairly temporary plate into place. Feels very odd. But it was quick and painless. Back out to the car, which refused to start. Battery drained again. It must be the alternator, despite the garage not being able to find any fault with it last time they looked for the problem. Tried calling No 2 son. No answer. So I had to get a taxi to get Neil and me home. (That sounds ungrammatical "Neil and me" but by my reckoning, it should be correct.) Once home, managed to get hold of DIL, who got hold of No 2 son, so he'll take us, and the spare battery back for my 2nd appointment. And if Neil can't get the car going, he'll bring us home again and the garage will just have to come out to pick up the car. This is proving to be an expensive dental appointment. My Libre just pinged me to tell me my BG is too low, so I'd better do something about it.
