Last night BG was 7.6 and FBG at 5.30 today was 4.1 - in the lower 4's I start to feel pretty bad so when I got up I was very hot and bothered, staggering and very shaky. Couldn't see very well either. So I had a boiled sweet from the emergency jar and fell asleep in the big kitchen chair. This brought my BG up to 8.0 by 9 am. At that point I decided to have breakfast (I was going to the dentist in town so thought I'd better fortify myself) so I had insulin and 2 scrambled eggs. Back home at 11.30 BG was 4.3. Lunch time BG was 4.6 and I had more insulin and some liver pate. By 3.20 it was still 4.6. By 5.10 I was shaky again and tested BG. It was 3.9. At 7 pm, after a biscuit, it was 6.2. Then I had more insulin and 2 mackerel fillets with a creamy mustard sauce. A little while ago it was 5.0. Still thinking about the pattern. BG rises in the morning until I eat (or until I take insulin) and stays high if that first meal is very late. A line worth following maybe. Surprised to have such low readings (for me) today. I'll reduce the short acting insulin a bit and we'll see how it goes tomorrow.
