Breakfast at 9 am: omelette with vegetables mixed through. BG just now is 8.1. Started out at 6.4 at 3 am, rose to 9.3 at 7.30 and 10.2 before breakfast. Higher than I wanted. It's not milk, so I'll have to rethink why the readings are so high in the mornings. The drop after breakfast is fine, and I'm hoping it will go further down during the morning, but it's that rise before breakfast that bothers me. Burns Day today and I have a haggis and a swede, so I am well set up for later in the day. Too much there for me, but I might be able to do something with the left-overs. Em was asking this morning which country is famous for its music and suggested that maybe it would be Scotland because it is famous for bagpipes. I suggested that that might be the very reason that some folk would rule Scotland out! I actually do like bagpipe music - in the right place and the right context but definitely not in the room with me. Tom used the play a chanter, but never progressed to actual pipes. Neil has tried pipes, but his lungs weren't up to it so he now has a kind of electrical version which doesn't sound quite the same. Alistair has a great singing voice (sings a lot of Leonard Cohen songs - has that depth, like his Dad) but, like me, can't play any instrument.
