Coconut oil is just that - oil... it looks solid but melts fast.... Coconut milk, cream and water are just what they say... always get the full fat versions, but be very, very careful about the contents of coconut water if you do buy it... only pure coconut water is good - the rest has all sorts in it... look up coconut oil on the net - it's the most wonderful stuff...Got a question regarding coconut oil / cream if I may. I bought Tiana pure goodness from Holland and Barrett but then some recipes state oil. Feeling a tad confused??
So happy for you re the progress your wife is making... prayers and candles still...Bloody tasty though, on occasion I sneakily have a small bowl of my sons cereal
Good news WS.Thanks Brunneria the op went better than expected on Thursday.
All the cancer was in her salivary duct, so he has taken all that out (he commented he has never seen that before) so I'm hoping that's a good sign! No nerve sacrificed so another plus, and scar is from top of ear to throat on jawline/ looks like she has had half a facelift...lol
Appointment in the morning to check up, and 2-3 weeks to find out if needs radiotherapy, I'm very proud of her as she has been really brave and not moaned once and she gone healthy eating antioxidants mad, which is all good...hell I've even learnt how to use the washing machine!! but I draw a line at ironing
Yes, it's a bummer isn't it? I think I'm putting weight on actually :-(Me too....
So glad it all went well..... I went through that scare a few years ago with the needle biopsy etc.....
So I know what you mean about the nerve and ducts.
Luckily mine was due to autoimmune, Lupus/dry mouth/enlarged glands in neck and a benign growth in cheek. I know I was real worried about the nerve being injured too.
She has been VERY brave xxx
Now, about teaching my hub to use the washing machine .......When you can of course
That's an amazing coincidence @Weird Science and not good for either of you, but nice that you can totally empathise.Last April I had my saliva gland taken out in my neck, and duct coming into my mouth under my tongue so yeah I can also relate to it as I was scared about nerve damage, strange that we have both had salivary problems and duct removal within a year, albeit hers are worse!
Not recentlyHave you lost any weight? I'd say weight loss has the greatest impact on insulin resistance.
You can get coconut milk, coconut milk powder, coconut oil, coconut cream and creamed coconut......the difference between the latter two is one is thick, just like cream and the other more of a solid block. Not tried the oilGot a question regarding coconut oil / cream if I may. I bought Tiana pure goodness from Holland and Barrett but then some recipes state oil. Feeling a tad confused??
Does the coconut milk come from a coconut cow? or do they just feed an ordinary cow on coconuts? You can get coconut milk, coconut milk powder, coconut oil, coconut cream and creamed coconut......the difference between the latter two is one is thick, just like cream and the other more of a solid block. You mean you have never milked a coconut.....?Does the coconut milk come from a coconut cow? or do they just feed an ordinary cow on coconuts?
DUMBO
I seen a peanut stand
heard a rubber band
I seen a needle that winked just now
but I'd be done see'in about everything
when I see a coconut cow.
That is putting me to shame.... never get tired of that line...Today:
B: 1min Flax bun, cheese, ham, mustard and mayo (you might be getting bored of this line...) 2 coffees with cream.
L: Pork loin chop, in apple cider vinegar, mustard and splenda sauce with a side of broccoli and parmesan cheese.
D: Skipped dinner as not hungry again... but I really wanted to have pancakes
S: some manchego cheese before bed.
Try ironing while you're watching - or - listening to the cricket on Five Live - you won't even notice it...Good news WS.
I draw the line at ironing too  Only do it when absolutely necessary
I'm just not losing any more... I am going to be more careful, but the trouble is, travelling as much as I do, eating sensibly is difficult sometimes... and when I get home everyone comes to see me and I'm cooking all sorts of stuff I shouldn't eat...Yes, it's a bummer isn't it? I think I'm putting weight on actually :-(
I have stones in my salivary glands... it's a family thing - finally had one of my glands removed three years ago... you can hardly see my scar and once all the numbness in my tongue finally went away I have no nerve problems, either... my brother still has trouble if he turns his head quickly though... I never met anyone else but family that had the problem... It is such good news about your wife.... you must be so relieved...Last April I had my saliva gland taken out in my neck, and duct coming into my mouth under my tongue so yeah I can also relate to it as I was scared about nerve damage, strange that we have both had salivary problems and duct removal within a year, albeit hers are worse!
You don't have coconut oil in your smoothies? Or to cook with? Or to bake with? Or to put in your Bullet Proof coffee or hot chocolate? It's lush....You can get coconut milk, coconut milk powder, coconut oil, coconut cream and creamed coconut......the difference between the latter two is one is thick, just like cream and the other more of a solid block. Not tried the oil
Nor me.... It's my belief that the cold weather in the winter makes me eat more...Not recently
