Stressful situations include infections, serious illness or significant emotion stress. http://dtc.ucsf.edu/types-of-diabet...-the-body-processes-sugar/blood-sugar-stress/ Although this article is aimed at Type 2s I would think the same hormonal response would also relate to Type1s.
