Thiamin is Vitamin B1
(or 2-[3-[(4-Amino-2-methyl-pyrimidin-5-yl)methyl]-4-methyl-thiazol-5-yl] ethanol  ) deficiency causes beri-beri (occurs by over- polishing rice).
Thiamine is needed for carbohydrate metabolism and for the release of energy from food

HI
Thiamin is a B1 vitamin. your body can be low in the vitamin, i think it also helps with neurological problems, but as i am not a doctor please google thiamin which will give you the full run down.
Hope this helps
