What should I be aiming for?

As a prediabetic, what sort of readings should I be aiming for, in terms of fasting, pre and post meal levels? I'm assuming advice on here will be different from the NICE guidelines.

And, could I achieve 'normal' levels?

This page, http://www.phlaunt.com/diabetes/16422495.php from the same web site as above, maybe helps advise more on the 'normal' BG levels.
Dr Bernstein and this web site are pretty much in agreement what 'normal' levels are, and what diabetics should aim for to reduce complications to a minimum.... Eg Dr B says 4.6 fasting and 5.6 two hours after eating.

Thanks so much for the link - that site is fantastic and has cheered me up no end. I was trying to explain to a friend that I felt being fat and having dodgy blood sugar were definitely connected, but not as cause and effect, and that site articulates what I'd intuited perfectly. Cheers!

Well actually high glucose levels increases levels of fat but the other way round is not true.

Thanks Andrew - it's taking me a while to get my head round the science!
