Last Friday morning something happened that I will never forget.....I found a young girl dead in the industrial yard where our warehouse is located crushed by a forklift.

It makes me think back of all the moaning (sometimes justified) about being type1 and feel a sense of guilt....if having diabetes is the worst think that happens to me physically then I suppose life won't be too bad at all.

Getting back to why I am writing he is what's it has done to my BG a levels....constanly high even when I dose more insulin on my pump for both basal and bolus. Has anyone else gone through a traumatic experience and how did they cop with there insulin adjustment??

Cheers

What an awful experience for you and so sad when it is a young person's death no matter what the circumstances. I hope that you will be offered someone to speak with to discuss how you are feeling. About the bloodsugars stress and worry and anxiety have all made big impacts at various times to my blood sugar. High sugars for me when I am really angry, often low when really sad and upset. Good thing you can see it, it might be an idea to write all your tests down as well as how you are feeling at the time for a while, I hope things settle over the next wee while for you. Sorry for your distress.Rx
