What to expect from ogtt?

I am having a ogtt but not sure what to expect in the way of testing, after the first test and drinking glucose do they take tests every half hour ? And what about the results, what if the first test is for example 6.1 and then half hr later the second is 9.0 and after 2 hrs the result is 5.6.
Not sure I'm making any sense lol as I'm unsure of how they diagnose diabetes.
I had gestational diabetes and they did a gtt which they took a fasting blood then drink and 2 hr later last bloods is it done the same way?
I had a non fasting glucose a couple of weeks ago that returned a result of 9.0

These days they only seem to take a fasting blood sample and another one two hours after the glucose drink. Your fasting level should be below 6. If after 2 hours you are between 7.8 and 11 then you will be considered to be glucose intolerant. If you are 11.1 or above, you will be diagnosed as fully diabetic.
